Canopy Features

The Rhinohide Canopy is a universal canopy system designed for any tractor or mower with a roll bar (ROPS).

True to its name, the Rhinohide Canopy is virtually unbreakable—made from a very high strength and lightweight plastic (HDPE). We have yet to hear of an encounter too strong for the canopy, yet at just 13 lb the shell is still lightweight enough for anyone to handle.

Remove your Rhinohide Canopy in just seconds with the twist of two hand screws. This is perfect if you need to remove the canopy for storage, trailering, low-clearance areas, or if you’re moving the canopy to the rear to cover your backhoe, or to another tractor or mower.

Our canopy is 37″ wide x 45″ deep. The closer you mount it to your head, the more shade it will provide. The best position for the canopy is about 10″ above your head when seated. We think this position is best on the Summit TX25, though some owners prefer to mount it above the roll bar so it can sit further back and provide more rear head shade. Just note, the higher the canopy, the more sun can reach you.

If your Summit tractor has a backhoe, you may consider adding our Backhoe Kit. The kit includes a second set of mounting hardware you can attach to the roll bar immediately above or below the first set to swap your canopy from forward facing to rear facing.

Virtually Indestructible
True to its name, the Rhinohide Canopy is tough—virtually unbreakable even. Made from a very high strength and lightweight plastic called High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), the canopy is capable of deflecting to a great extent when stressed. The combination of our material and shape create a canopy so tough, we haven’t had to replace a single one since founding.

Plastic Is Better Than Metal
Compared to a painted canopy, scratches are barely visible on a Rhinohide, as the plastic is black all the way through. Compared to canopies made from other type of plastic, like ABS, the Rhinohide isn’t prone to breaking or shattering. Compared to a metal canopy, the Rhinohide rarely dents and won’t rust when scratched. And it’s much, much lighter. And our dye is UV resistant, so your canopy will not fade over time.

Lightweight
The Rhinohide shell weighs just 13 lb, lightweight enough for anyone to handle. This is helpful for installation, as well as for removing the canopy for trailering or storage.

Removable
All models of the Rhinohide are removable, easy on and easy off. Quickly loosen two hand screws and slide the canopy off its risers.

Unlike other canopies, you can choose to mount the Rhinohide below the top of the roll bar, preserving the height and clearance of your tractor if you have low garage doors or low limbs on your property.

Since our founding, we’re happy to say we’ve never had to replace a canopy. Ever.

Still, we offer a Lifetime Warranty with every purchase that’s simple to understand—if your canopy ever fails for any fault of ours, we’ll replace the necessary parts at no cost to you.

It doesn’t matter if your tractor is from John Deere, Kubota, Kioti, Mahindra, Massey, LS, Yanmar, TYM, Bobcat, New Holland, Bad Boy, Summit or any other manufacturer!

We have hardware to fit 100% of roll bars out there. The standard hardware on our Universal Tractor Canopy fits 90% of tractor roll bars. To be sure you don’t need special hardware, it’s best to verify four things.

  • A. If your roll bar is made from tube steel wider than 2.5 inches, choose that option.
  • B. If your roll bar is made from tube steel deeper than 4 inches, choose that option.
  • C. If your roll bar is wider than 42 inches (outside-to-outside), choose that option.
  • If your roll bar angles forward greater than 15 degrees, shop our Canopy for Angled Roll Bars.

Backhoe Kit
If your tractor has a backhoe, you may consider adding our Backhoe Kit.* This kit includes an additional set of mounting hardware that you attach above or below your first set. Then you can swap your canopy from forward facing to rear facing.

*The Backhoe Kit cannot be used if you’re mounting to an angled roll bar.

Multi-Kit
If you own a second machine (like a zero turn mower) with a roll bar that has a width within 6″ of your tractor’s roll bar, add the Multi-Kit to your order to easily swap your canopy from one machine to the other, instead of buying two complete canopy kits.

There are some considerations for the Multi-Kit. You will fix the support arms to the canopy, so they will have a fixed dimension that needs to align to both roll bars.** You will likely need to make up some distance between the two machines with your own bushings/spacers/washers.

*You can compare the outside width of the narrower roll bar to the inside width of the wider roll bar.

The easiest way to understand how to install your Rhinohide Canopy is by watching us install one first.

Even if your tractor or mower is different, the installation will be almost exactly the same.

We think the best position for our canopy is about 10″ above your head when seated. On tractors this often means mounting in front of and below the top of your roll bar. On zero turn mowers, this will always be above the roll bar.

Depending on the position of your seat and roll bar, as well as the shape of your roll bar, this lower position may not allow for much coverage behind your head. But it may provide more shade than mounting the canopy above your roll bar.

Roll Bar Critical Dimensions for Rhinohide Canopy

It’s as easy as ABC

Verify these three measurements to ensure you get the right hardware the first time.

A: Measure the outside-to-outside width of your roll bar.
If it’s greater than 42 inches, select that option above.

B: Measure the width of your roll bar’s tube steel.
If it’s wider than 2 1/2 inches, select that option above.

C: Measure the depth of your roll bar’s tube steel.
If it’s deeper than 4 inches, select that option above.

Standard Roll Bar Angle Allowance Diagram

This is what we consider a Standard Roll Bar.

The vast majority of tractor models (95%+) have a roll bar that doesn’t lean forward or backwards more than 15°. We consider anything in this range a Standard Roll Bar, and it fits our standard hardware in the Universal Tractor Canopy.

All zero turn roll bars also classify as Standard, for our purposes, so the Universal Mower Canopy fits all zero turn mowers.
