Canopy Features
The Rhinohide Canopy is a universal canopy system designed for any tractor or mower with a Roll Over Protection System (ROPS), otherwise known as a roll bar.
True to its name, the Rhinohide Canopy is virtually unbreakable—made from a very high strength and lightweight plastic (HDPE). We have yet to hear of an encounter too strong for the canopy, yet at just 13 lb the shell is still lightweight enough for anyone to handle.
Remove your Rhinohide Canopy in just seconds with the twist of two hand screws. This is perfect if you need to remove the canopy for storage, trailering, low-clearance areas, or if you’re moving the canopy to the rear to cover your backhoe, or to another tractor or mower.
Our canopy is 37″ wide x 45″ deep. The closer you mount it to your head, the more shade it will provide. The best position for the canopy is about 15″ above your head when seated. On tractors this often means mounting in front of and below the top of your roll bar.
Depending on the position of your seat, and position and design of your roll bar, mounting below the top of your roll bar may not allow for much shade behind your head. Most owners still think this position the best position, though others move the canopy higher and above the roll bar so the canopy can be placed further to their backside.
Our standard mounting components included with every Rhinohide Canopy fit 98% of John Deere tractors, but read on below to verify you don’t need any of our extended components if you tractor model isn’t in the drop down menu.
Backhoe / Multi-Kit
If your tractor has a backhoe, you may consider adding our Backhoe/Multi Kit. This kit includes a second set of mounting hardware that you can attach to the roll bar immediately above or below the first set, but facing the rear, so you can swap your canopy from forward facing to rear facing.
Or, if you own a second machine (like a zero turn mower) with a roll bar that has a width within 4″ of your tractor’s roll bar, add the Multi Kit (above) to your order and easily swap your canopy from one machine to the other instead of buying two complete canopy kits.
*Note you can compare the outside-to-outside width of the narrower roll bar to the inside-to-inside width of the wider roll bar.
**If you have a roll bar that leans forward 20° or more, you can’t use the backhoe kit. You can however, still buy the kit as a Multi-Kit to swap to another machine. But note, the struts (bent metal arms) supporting the canopy have been bent at a different angle than the standard struts, so if the other machine has a vertical roll bar, the struts will reach out further ahead than ideal on that second roll bar.
Ordering (Read This Before Ordering!)
We make one, universal canopy to fit all tractors. So it doesn’t matter if your tractor is from John Deere, Kubota, Kioti, Mahindra, Massey, LS, Yanmar, TYM, Bobcat, New Holland, Bad Boy, Summit or any other manufacturer! It’s all about the roll bar, and 98% of tractor’s we sell to have a roll bar that fits our standard hardware.
If your roll bar is made from tube steel wider than 2.5” or deeper than 4” let us know. Likewise if your roll bar is wider than 42” outside-to-outside let us know, and we’ll ship out the proper hardware.
If your roll bar has an angle greater than 20 degrees, we have parts made just for that. For John Deere this includes the John Deere 1025R and 2025R. If you have tractor from another manufacturer with a roll bar that leans forward, order from this listing.
