Frequently Asked Questions

Rhinohide mounts to your tractor’s roll bar, also called a ROPS. If you find your tractor model already listed in the dropdown, we’ve done the measuring for you. Just select your model when ordering. If it isn’t listed, check the roll bar measurements below or contact us with your model and a photo for help choosing the right hardware.

Our standard hardware fits 90% of tractors, and 99% of mowers.

If you find your tractor or mower model already listed on our site, we’ve done the measuring for you. Otherwise, measure the roll bar’s overall width outside-to-outside, plus the width and depth of its tubing.

Standard hardware fits roll bars 41 inches wide or less, with tubing up to 2½ inches wide and 4 inches deep. Also check its angle. If your roll bar is angled more than 15°, you'll want to shop our Canopy for Angled Roll Bars (this doesn't apply to mowers, only tractors).

Contact us if your dimensions exceed these limits or you’re unsure which hardware to choose.

Yes, and that's why many customers choose Rhinohide, to preserve clearance under garage doors.

Bringing our canopy closer to your head also provides more shade for you.

On zero-turn mowers, the canopy mounts above the roll bar as any lower mounting position almost always interferes with your head (exceptions do apply).

No. U-bolts clamp the mounting brackets to your roll bar. Installation requires drilling mounting holes through the plastic canopy shell only.

General safety says to never amend your roll bar in any way.

Allow about 45 minutes for one person installing a Rhinohide canopy for the first time. If you’re handy and have gone through our installation manual, you may finish in about 30 minutes.

You'll use simple tools like wrenches or sockets, a drill, and a tape measure.

You can still order through the Universal Tractor Canopy page after checking your roll bar dimensions and angle. An unlisted model doesn’t necessarily need special hardware. Send us your measurements and a photo if you’d like help confirming fit.

It depends on the mounting position and your doorway height.

A below-roll-bar installation preserves your tractor’s existing height. Or you can remove the canopy when you need additional clearance, as it removes in 10-15 seconds.

The shell measures 37 inches wide by 45 inches long and weighs 13 pounds. The steel support arms and mounting hardware add roughly another 10 lb to the complete assembly.

There is really no wrong answer, but 10 inches above your head while seated is a useful starting point. A lower canopy provides more shade, but leave enough headroom and check that you can comfortably enter, exit, and operate your machine.

Choose the larger-hardware option offered on the product page for roll bars wider than 41 inches or tubing deeper than 4 inches. For tubing wider than 2½ inches, or if the option you need isn’t shown, contact us before ordering.

The shell is made from high-density polyethylene, or HDPE, an incredibly tough plastic that flexes under stress. The mounting components are powder-coated steel with zinc-coated hardware.

Yes. Always remove your Rhinohide canopy before transporting your tractor or mower on a trailer.

Yes, with compatible mounting positions and the Canopy Swap Kit. The kit adds mounts to your second machine; the same canopy and attached support arms move between them. Both roll bars must meet the kit’s fit requirements, and spacers may be needed. The Swap Kit is for standard roll bars only. Contact us with both machines’ measurements before ordering.

Loosen the two hand screws and slide the canopy and its attached support arms off the mounting uprights. The roll-bar mounting hardware stays on your machine, ready for reinstallation.

We don’t recommend it. Paint doesn’t adhere well to HDPE. Choose an available shell color when ordering instead of planning to paint it afterward.

On tractors with standard roll bars, the Backhoe Kit adds a rear mounting position so you can move your existing canopy over the backhoe seat. It is not compatible with angled roll bars.

For a below-roll-bar installation on a roll bar that angles forward more than 15 degrees, choose our canopy for angled roll bars. It uses support arms shaped for that mounting position. If your tractor model is listed, select it so we can provide the appropriate hardware. Contact us about unusual or rearward-leaning roll bars.

Yep! We believe in our canopy's durability so much that every Rhinohide canopy includes a simple-to-understand Lifetime Warranty.

If anything ever fails because of a fault on our part, contact us. We’ll replace the necessary parts at no cost to you.
